The Association of Maternal and Child Health Programs has reached out to Kinetic Affect to bring HEART and SPIRIT to their nation-wide annual conference in Washington DC. So now we have a poem about moms and kids, and we’re excited to move those who hear it.

We were very excited to have an opportunity to create a poetry piece about mothers and their children and the support they need and deserve from all of us. It truly does take a village to raise a child, and this is what inspired our poem dedicated to the event. We’ve called it “All for One.” Here is just a taste of it, the opening lines:

“It used to take a village to raise a child,

but today so many children are being abandoned

to do it by themselves.

Too many mothers are being left

to raise the future of our nation on their own

with no help.

Left to their own devices.

Left to fight the vices of their pasts,

trying to make a better tomorrow

by sacrificing today.”
